Becoming an Emergency Medical Technician requires strict training. Classes prepare students to function as practitioners in the prehospital emergency medical environment. This intense and accelerated 9-week course is considered a Blended/Hybrid Model. Students attend in-person sessions every Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with one Saturday mandatory session being required on Saturday, August 10th from 8 am – 4 pm. Students will also have 24/7 access to our custom-built classroom, which offers pre-recorded and scheduled content, including lectures, videos, and quizzes to support and enhance the learning experience.
Each student is required to participate in field/clinical internship experiences in and around Montgomery/Bucks/Berks Counties to achieve “patient contacts”.
Attendance is extremely important. In-person classroom absences are strictly monitored and cannot exceed 16 hours throughout the program.
This class is very fast paced, and time and dedication are required for success. Students who have successfully completed the didactic and clinical components of this program will be eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT Exam.
Please note: PA Criminal Background checks, Child Abuse Clearance Forms, Health Forms with proof of vaccinations, Picture ID’s and Personal Health Insurance are required for entry into the EMT programs. Students are also required to purchase Personal Student Liability Insurance once class starts (more information at the start of the program).
Prerequisites: EMT Students must be 16 years old at the time of PA DOH state testing
